History
Founded in 1963.
The Nova Scotia Building Officials Association (NSBOA) is a non-profit organization established under the Society’s Act of Nova Scotia.
NSBOA was created to address the professional development, training, and educational needs of building officials, aiming for a uniform interpretation of the Building Code. Our strong partnership with the Province of Nova Scotia, especially through the Department of Municipal Affairs, has been crucial to our success.
The department oversees the Building Code Act and Regulations, adopting the National Building Code of Canada with amendments as the Nova Scotia Building Code.
