
The Nova Scotia Building Code Training & Certification Board (TCB) was created in 2008 to establish and maintain education and training standards for Qualified Building Officials in the province.
The TCB develops these standards to recognize national standards, certifications, and accreditation models. In addition to establishing the curriculum for Nova Scotia Building Officials, the TCB reviews changes to the Professional Studies Program and other courses offered by the Nova Scotia Building Officials Association (NSBOA).
As an overseer of NSBOA, the TCB comprises individuals appointed by government departments, specific industry associations, NSBOA, and special interest groups. These groups include;
The TCB reviews applications for all levels of Qualification. This review and approval process happens once all the education and training requirements have been completed through NSBOA and include applications for those wishing to relocate to Nova Scotia.
